That’s right, Lafayette Indiana homeowners can receive up to a total of $1500 in tax credits when they select and install qualifying Amana® brand premium heating or cooling system products.

The total tax credits available are equal to 30% of the installed cost of the qualifying products or system up to $1500. The qualifying products or systems must be installed in a homeowners principal residence from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010. Ask ARS Lafayette for full details.

This tax credit opportunity is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) which was signed into law on February 17, 2009. The products listed below are Qualified Energy Property and, if installed in the homeowner's primary residence and placed in service between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010, qualify for a non-refundable tax credit under Section 25C of the Internal Revenue Code for 30% of the cost, up to $1,500.

To learn the full details regarding the tax credits, talk to your tax professional or visit http://www.energy.gov/taxbreaks.htm for more information.

* Check with ARS Lafayette or tax code to determine specific amount allowed for these products. Actual tax credit amounts remain under review.

** A tax credit is generally more valuable than an equivalent tax deduction because a tax credit reduces tax dollar-for-dollar, while a deduction only removes a percentage of the tax that is owed. Tax filers can itemize purchases in their federal income tax form, which will lower the total amount of tax they owe the government.

*** Amana recommends that consumers consult with a tax professional to determine the application of the tax credits outlined in the Emergency Economic Stability Act of 2008Â to their particular situation.
